WV Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members will host RD Day at the Legislature at 9:00 AM and a coffee reception with Governor Earl Ray Tomblin at 1:30 on Monday, March 5, 2012. A National Nutrition Month proclamation will follow the coffee reception.
If dietetics is your profession, politics is your business. Healthcare is dictated by politics and dietitians must maintain “a seat at the table."

Dietitians and interns from throughout the state met at the state capital on Monday for the annual WV Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Day at the Legislature. Richard McGinnis made a table display near the Rotunda. Dietitians met with their delegates then with Governor Earl Ray Tomblin for the signing of the proclamation of National Nutrition Month and National Dietitian Day. WVDA President Kendra Stoen was interviewed by Channel 3. After the proclamation, Dietitians and special guests, which included CEOs of area hospitals, gathered at the home of Helen Lodge for a luncheon. It is time to elect the 2012 WV Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Board candidates for the following positions: President-elect, Secretary, and Chair-elect of the Council on Professional Issues (COPI-elect). Voting will begin today Monday, February 21, 2011 and conclude on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. All current members of the Association are eligible to participate in the elections. 2011 Future Connections-Summit on Dietetics Practice, Credentialing, and Education
Where would you like dietetics practice, credentialing and education to be in the year 2021? What are future practice roles for dietetics practitioners? These are questions that members will answer during 2011 Future Connections-Summit on Dietetics Practice, Credentialing and Education scheduled for March 24-26, 2011. The Summit intends to create a shared vision and recommendations about a future direction for dietetics practice, credentialing and education. During the Summit, participants will have an opportunity for dialogue, consideration of expert opinions, and critical assessment of our past, present and future. In order to maximize participation, the Summit will be conducted using seven regional sites. A limited number of participants will be selected for each regional site. The Summit registration fee is $300 which includes meal functions and participant materials.
